SAIT Important Dates and Deadlines 2024-2025: Academic Calendar

Check out the SAIT Important Dates and deadlines on the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology academic calendar 2024-2025.

SAIT academic calendar is based on a standard 15-week semester that begins on the term start date. Below are the SAIT important dates for the winter, Spring, and Summer semesters of 2024-2025.

SAIT important dates fall 2024

Here are the SAIT important dates and deadlines for the fall 2024 calendar.

1. The Institute will be closed in recognition of Labour Day on September 2, 2024.
2. Applications to graduate will open for the Winter 2025 conferral, and the Fall semester will commence on September 3, 2024.
3. The tuition payment deadline for continuing students will occur, along with the final day to apply for transfer credit or PLAR for the fall term (tuition refund applies to most full-time programs), and the add/drop period will end for most full-time programs on September 13, 2024.
4. The Institute will be closed for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2024.
5. Applications for Summer and Fall 2025 will open at 8:30 AM on October 2, 2024.
6. The Institute will be closed for Thanksgiving Day on October 14, 2024.
7. An Open House will take place from October 18 to October 19, 2024.
8. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting November 18, 2024, will occur on October 23, 2024.
9. Self-registration will open at 8:15 AM for Winter 2025 programs from October 28 to October 31, 2024.
10. Transfer credit and PLAR applications will open for the winter term on November 1, 2024.
11. The Institute will be closed for Remembrance Day on November 11, 2024.
12. The Fall 2024 Mid-Semester Break will take place on November 12 to November 13, 2024, according to the SAIT holiday schedule 2024.
13. The fall withdrawal deadline for 15-week courses will occur on November 15, 2024.
14. The Fall 2024 Convocation Ceremony will be held on November 19, 2024.
15. According to SAIT important dates calendar 2024-2025, the final transcript deadline for winter term applicants will occur on December 1, 2024.
16. The final exam week will take place from December 11 to December 16, 2024 (Wednesday – Monday, excluding Sunday).
17. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students will occur on December 11, 2024.
18. The fall term will end on December 16, 2024. SAIT winter break 2024 is from December 17, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
19. The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology will be closed for the Christmas holiday break from December 25 to December 31, 2024.
20. The application to graduate deadline for the Winter 2025 conferral will occur on December 31, 2024.

SAIT important dates winter 2025

Here are the SAIT important dates and deadlines for the winter 2025 calendar.

1. The Institute will be closed in recognition of New Year’s Day on January 1, 2025.
2. The Winter 2025 add/drop period for most full-time programs will begin on January 2, 2025.
3. Applications to graduate will open for the Spring 2025 conferral on January 2, 2025.
4. SAIT Winter 2025 semester will start on January 6, 2025.
5. The tuition payment deadline for continuing students will occur on January 17, 2025.
6. January 17, 2025, is also the final day to apply for transfer credit or PLAR for the winter term and receive a tuition refund (most full-time programs), and the add/drop period will end for most full-time programs.
7. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting February 18, 2025, will occur on January 22, 2025.
8. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting February 24, 2025, will occur on January 29, 2025.
9. Spring 2025 registration (tentative) will take place from February 10 to February 14, 2025.
10. The Institute will be closed for Family Day on February 17, 2025.
11. SAIT Reading Week will take place from February 17 to February 21, 2025.
12. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting March 17, 2025, will occur on February 19, 2025.
13. The Winter 2025 Convocation Ceremony will be held on February 27, 2025.
14. Transfer credit and PLAR applications will open for the spring term on March 1, 2025, according to SAIT important dates calendar.
15. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting April 7, 2025, will occur on March 12, 2025.
16. The winter withdrawal deadline for 15-week courses will occur on March 24, 2025.
17. Applications for Winter 2026 will open at 8:30 AM on March 26, 2025.
18. The application to graduate deadline for the Spring 2025 conferral will occur on March 31, 2025.
19. The final transcript deadline for Spring term applicants will occur on April 1, 2025.
20. Applications to graduate will open for Fall conferral on April 1, 2025.
21. The tuition payment deadline for accepted Spring 2025 students starting May 5, 2025, will occur on April 9, 2025.
22. The Institute will be closed for Good Friday on April 18, 2025.
23. The Institute will be closed for Easter Monday on April 21, 2025.
24. Final exam week will take place from April 22 to April 26, 2025 (Tuesday – Saturday).
25. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting May 20, 2025, will occur on April 23, 2025.
26. The end of the winter term will occur on April 26, 2025.
27. The Spring 2025 add/drop period for most full-time programs will begin on April 28, 2025.

SAIT important dates spring/summer 2025

Here are the SAIT important dates and deadlines for the spring/summer 2025 calendar.

1. Spring classes will commence on May 5, 2025.
2. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students starting May 20, 2025, will occur on May 14, 2025.
3. The tuition payment deadline for continuing students will occur on May 16, 2025.
4. May 16, 2025, is also the final day to apply for transfer credit or PLAR for the spring term and receive a tuition refund (most full-time programs), and the add/drop period will end for most full-time programs.
5. The final day to opt out or add family to the SAITSA health and dental benefits plan will be May 16, 2025.
6. The Institute will be closed in recognition of Victoria Day on May 19, 2025.
7. Transfer credit and PLAR applications will open for the summer term on June 1, 2025.
8. The final transcript deadline for summer term applicants will occur on June 1, 2025, according to SAIT important dates calendar.
9. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students will occur on June 11, 2025.
10. Applications for Spring 2026 will open at 8:30 AM on June 11, 2025.
11. The Spring 2025 Convocation Ceremonies will take place from June 17 to June 19, 2025.
12. The Spring/Summer 2025 Mid-Semester Break will occur on June 30, 2025.
13. The Institute will be closed in recognition of Canada Day on July 1, 2025.
14. Transfer credit and PLAR applications will open for the fall term on July 1, 2025.
15. July 2, 2025, is the final day to apply for transfer credit or PLAR for the summer term and receive a tuition refund (most full-time programs), and the Spring/Summer Mid-Semester Break will take place from July 2 to July 4, 2025.
16. The Institute will be closed until 1 PM for the Calgary Stampede Parade on July 4, 2025.
17. The summer semester will commence on July 7, 2025.
18. The spring withdrawal deadline for 15-week courses will occur on July 16, 2025.
19. The final transcript deadline for fall term applicants will occur on August 1, 2025.
20. The Institute will be closed for Civic Holiday on August 4, 2025.
21. The tuition payment deadline for accepted students will occur on August 6, 2025.
22. The summer withdrawal deadline for 8-week courses will occur on August 9, 2025.
23. Final exam week for 15-week spring courses that started the week of May 9 will take place from August 18 to July 21, 2025.
24. The end of the spring/summer term will occur on August 21, 2025.
25. The application to graduate deadline for Fall 2025 conferral will occur on August 31, 2025.
