UTM Academic Calendar 2025: Important Dates and Deadlines

UTM Academic Calendar Winter 2025

Here are the important dates and deadline on the UTM academic calendar for winter 2025.

1. The winter break begins, and the university is closed on December 24, 2024.
2. The winter break continues, and the university remains closed on January 3, 2025.
3. The deadline to cancel registration (withdraw from all courses) with no minimum charge if registered in S courses only is January 5, 2025.
4. Y courses resume and S courses begin on January 6, 2025.
5. The final day to submit the Course Enrolment Exception Form to enroll in a repeated course for S courses, with the form closing at 4 p.m., is January 17, 2025.
6. The final day to submit the Course Enrolment Exception Form for students with an approved petition for a course overload in S courses, with the form closing at 4 p.m., is January 17, 2025.
7. The last day for deregulated program students (excluding BCOM degrees) to drop S courses before the Winter Term course load is locked for program fee or per course billing is January 19, 2025, according to UTM academic calendar 2025.
8. The last day for BCOM students paying deregulated program fees to drop from full to part-time status and receive a 50% program fee refund is January 19, 2025.
9. The last day to drop an S course on ACORN and receive a 100% course fee refund, provided you are still registered in other courses, is January 19, 2025.
10. The last day to add or change a section in an S course on ACORN is January 19, 2025.
11. The waitlist for S courses ends on January 19, 2025.
12. The first day to request or cancel Credit/No Credit on ACORN for S courses is January 20, 2025.
13. The first day to request a Second Attempt for Credit for S courses is January 20, 2025.
14. The deadline to pay Winter term fees to avoid service charges, if deferred due to a loan or registered by paying at least the minimum payment, is January 31, 2025, according to UTM academic calendar 2025.
15. The deadline to confirm or withdraw your request for Spring 2025 Convocation on ACORN is January 31, 2025.
16. The last day to drop an S course and receive a 50% course fee refund is February 9, 2025, according to UTM academic calendar for winter 2025.
17. Winter term service charges begin on outstanding Winter balances if deferred due to a loan or registered by paying the minimum payment on February 15, 2025.
18. The deadline to drop a Y course from your academic record and GPA is February 17, 2025.
19. Family Day will be observed, and the university will be closed on February 17, 2025.
20. The deferred exam period for December exams will take place from February 18 to February 21, 2025.
21. UTM Reading Week 2025 will be observed from February 18 to February 21, 2025.
22. The deadline to drop an S course from your academic record and GPA is March 10, 2025.
23. The deadline to apply for a Letter of Permission to study at another Canadian university during the Summer Session is April 1, 2025.
24. The deadline to request a Late Withdrawal (LWD) for Y & S courses taken at UTM is April 4, 2025.
25. The deadline to request or cancel Credit/No Credit on ACORN for Y & S courses taken at UTM with a final exam is April 4, 2025.
26. The deadline to submit or cancel a Second Attempt for Credit request for Y & S courses is April 4, 2025, according to UTM academic calendar 2025.
27. Classes for Y and S courses end on April 4, 2025.
28. The study break will take place from April 7 to April 8, 2025.
29. The final exam period will take place from April 9 to April 25, 2025.
30. Good Friday will be observed, and the university will be closed on April 18, 2025.
31. The exam contingency day is April 26, 2025.
32. The deferred exam period for S & Y exams will take place from April 28 to May 2, 2025.
33. The deadline for all students to pay outstanding fees for the Fall-Winter session is April 30, 2025.
