U of T Academic Calendar 2024-2025: UOFT Important Dates

The U of T academic calendar dates below include enrolment dates, drop deadlines, exam periods, petition deadlines, and more.

As a student of the University of Toronto, it is important to take note of all your UOFT important dates, and payment and refund deadlines.

U of T academic calendar fall 2024

Check out the U of T important dates and deadlines on the U of T academic calendar for Fall session 2024.

1. Fall and Winter course enrolment start times for Arts & Science students (all years) will be available on ACORN on July 1, 2024.
2. The course enrolment priority period for Faculty of Arts & Science students runs from July 8 to July 24, 2024.
3. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for fourth-year students (14.0+ credits) is July 8, 2024, according to the University of Toronto Academic calendar.
4. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for third-year students (9.0 – 13.5 credits) is July 10, 2024.
5. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for second-year students (4.0 – 8.5 credits) is July 15, 2024.
6. The first day of Fall and Winter course enrolment for first-year students (fewer than 4.0 credits) is July 18, 2024, according to UOFT enrolment dates.
7. There will be a non-enrolment day on July 25, 2024, during which you cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
8. The general enrolment period for Faculty of Arts & Science students begins on July 26, 2024.
9. Another non-enrolment day occurs on July 30, 2024, during which you cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
10. The first day of course enrolment for St. George campus (downtown) students who are not enrolled in the Faculty of Arts & Science is July 31, 2024, according to U of T academic calendar 2024.
11. The first day of course enrolment for non-degree Arts & Science students is on July 31, 2024.
12. There is a non-enrolment day on August 1, 2024, during which you cannot use ACORN to add, change, or drop courses.
13. Course enrolment for other campuses opens at 6 am on August 2, 2024, allowing Arts & Science students to add UTM/UTSC courses and UTM/UTSC students to add Arts & Science courses.
14. The tuition fee payment/deferral deadline for the Fall/Winter session is August 27, 2024.
15. There are no classes held on September 2, 2024, for Labour Day.
16. Classes for F and Y courses begin on September 3, 2024.
17. The last day to request Fall 2024 graduation is September 6, 2024.
18. Waitlists for F and Y courses close at the end of the day on September 12, 2024, according to U of T academic calendar 2024.
19. The last day to enrol in F and Y courses is September 16, 2024.
20. The last day to enrol or accept an invitation to a program for Fall/Winter is on September 16, 2024.
21. The program/course fee freeze date for F and Y courses is September 16, 2024. Any F and Y courses cancelled after this date will still be counted for accurate tuition assessment.
22. The first day to select a Credit/No-Credit (CR/NCR) option for F and Y courses is September 17, 2024.
23. There are no classes held on October 14, 2024, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
24. According to the U of T important dates calendar, no classes will be held during the U of T Fall Reading Week from October 28 to November 1, 2024.
25. The last day to drop F courses is on November 4, 2024. Note that some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN, and students must contact their College or Department for such actions.
26. The first day to request Spring 2025 graduation is November 6, 2024.
27. The last day for most regularly scheduled classes in F and Y courses (for the Fall term) is on December 2, 2024.
28. The official last day of classes is on December 3, 2024, and at the instructor’s discretion, classes scheduled on Mondays will hold their last class on this day to make up for class missed due to the Thanksgiving holiday, according to UOFT important dates.
29. The last day to add or remove a CR/NCR option in Fall F courses is December 3, 2024.
30. The deadline to request Late Withdrawal (LWD) from Fall F courses is December 3, 2024.
31. Study days occur on December 4 and December 5, 2024.
32. Final exams in F courses and term tests in Y courses will take place from December 6 to December 21, 2024.
33. The university will be closed for UOFT Winter Holidays from December 24, 2024, to January 3, 2025, inclusive.
34. Winter classes for S and Y courses will resume in January 2025, according to U of T academic calendar.
35. The last day to submit a term work extension petition in F courses is January 9, 2025.
36. The last day for instructors to accept late term work for F courses is also January 9, 2025. Instructors can grant extensions at their own discretion until this date, and requests for extensions beyond this date must be submitted as a petition for a term work extension.

U of T academic calendar winter 2025

Check out the U of T important dates and deadlines on the U of T academic calendar for the winter semester 2025.

1. Classes in S courses will begin, and classes in Y courses will resume on January 6, 2025.
2. Waitlists for S courses will close at the end of the day on January 14, 2025.
3. The last day to enrol in S courses is January 19, 2025.
4. The program/course fee freeze date for S courses is January 19, 2025. Any S courses cancelled after this date will still be counted for accurate tuition assessment.
5. The last day to request Spring 2025 graduation is January 31, 2025.
6. The last day to drop Y courses is on February 14, 2025. Note that some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN, and students must contact their College or Department for such actions.
7. The university will be closed for Family Day on February 17, 2025, and there will be no classes.
8. Reading Week will take place from February 17 to February 21, 2025.
9. The last day to drop S courses is on March 10, 2025. Note that some courses cannot be dropped using ACORN, and students must contact their College or Department for such actions.
10. Classes will end in S and Y courses on April 4, 2025.
11. Study days will occur on April 7 and April 8, 2025.
12. Final exams in S and Y courses will take place from April 9 to April 30, 2025.
13. The university will be closed on April 18, 2025, for Good Friday, with no classes or final exams.
14. The last day to submit a term work extension petition in S & Y courses is May 7, 2025.
15. The last day for instructors to accept late-term work for S or Y courses is also May 7, 2025. Instructors can grant extensions at their discretion until this date. Requests for extensions beyond this date must be submitted as a petition for a term work extension.

Remember, these sessional or semester dates are the same for UTSC and UTM.
